My first attempt at buildin/painting armor

Model is from Tamiya's 1/35 "Front Line Breakthrough"

OD Spray, oil tubes, hobby enamel, pastel chalk and lots of tuff luvin'.

how do you apply your pastels? with a brush for weathering? whats your technique for getting the dust to stay? also what brand pastels are you using? thanks.

First I scrape off bits from the pastel stick using a hobby knife, then I gather up the dust and use an old flat brush for it. To apply, dip the brush in the dust and jab it onto the armor surface..(for more detailed info, try observing women when they apply make-up. It's pretty much the same)

As for getting the dust to stay, I don't really know specifically what i did. :dohtwo: Well, maybe having a rough surface helps, because the dust could just "seep" in the rough parts"... or if not, just avoid touching the thing much after the pastels have been applied.

I think i heard something once about applying an acrylic clear coat spray over it to make it stay. although this dulls the affect it is better to use a little more dust when applying. later man thanks for the advice

haha nice. dati gumagawa rin ako nyan (tanks etc.), pati mga dayorama ng mga war stuff. pinasabog ko nung bagong taon, hehe. nice stuff.
